Fire Suppression
The automatic fire suppression systems use distributed sensors to determine when hazardous fire or smoke conditions exist in the datacenters. After appropriate warning, including notification to the building alarm system and local fire department, the FM-200 fire suppression agent is dumped to extinguish fire or smoldering within the datacenters. The suppression agent is designed to smother fires without damaging electronic equipment.
Security
The datacenter building is protected 24/7 by a front door security guard. Anyone entering the building must be on the access control list or someone from within the building must escort them in. To obtain get access to actual server room, a person must have a biometric access card on file to gain entry. The Access Control System stores the information about who entered and when, which management can review at anytime. The facility is monitored inside and out by the security team at all times with the surveillance system.
100% Power Reliability
The building in is supplied with double power feeds from the utility company. In the event of a power outage, the data center is equipped with a 750 KVA diesel generator. The generator is tested every week. When a power outage is detected, the generator will start automatically within 15 seconds. Fuel can be added to keep the network up and running indefinitely. The data center also uses a dual advanced Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system that protects against degraded commercial power and interruptions; The Uninterruptible Power Supplies have been installed to constantly monitor and regulate the quality of power coming from the wall so that equipment always receives the clean 120-volt power it was designed for.
Datacenter Climate Control
The heat output of thousands of powerful servers is considerable, and without environmental control, servers will fail. The custom-built datacenters employ redundant Liebert 30-ton climate control units, utilizing two completely separate air duct systems which are interleaved throughout each of the datacenters. Each system is capable of controlling temperature and humidity within each of the datacenters. Additional 10-ton units also contribute to crosswind airflow. Automatic failover systems ensure that in the event of hardware failure, environmental cooling is preserved. Temperature monitors placed throughout the datacenters ensure that we have early warning of any change in conditions.
Above Net IP Infrastructure
Above Net IP Transit is specifically designed to deliver maximum performance with 100% uptime and unparalleled reliability without the constraints of legacy infrastructure. Above Net combines its world class long haul IP backbone with its high density metro fiber network to ensure that data arrives quickly and accurately from an Above Net Internet Service Exchange (ISX) or direct access to the Internet backbone. The local network is fully-switched and collision-free, while our external connections are OC-12c (up to 622Mbps) and GigE (up to 1000Mbps) to four diverse backbone networks. Above Net exclusively uses Juniper Networks for wire-speed, rock-solid connectivity to upstream providers. Through hand-tuning in addition to BGP route selection, Above Net ensures optimal route selection focused on private peering, and automatic failover in the event of outages.
Data Protection
BizHelper provides the R1Soft Continuous Data Protection solution enabling hourly data backup and if any hosting server crashes all the data can be restored in just a few minutes rather than hours. R1Soft’s CDP solution is a near-continuous backup system capable of providing hundreds of recovery points per day scheduled as little as 5 or 10 minutes apart. With this backup solution, BizHelper is able to access file versions set at whatever level of protection and storage is determined to be needed for a clients specific requirement. Data can be restored as an individual file or as large as the entire server (bare metal recovery).
